Guess I'm just too white and nerdy [Nov. 20th, 2006|08:57 pm]
[How I'm feeling |happy]
[I'm listening to |Money for Nothing - Dire Straits]

It's been a while since I've written in this thing, so I might as well update. Life in general is pretty sweet these days, and today was no exception. Auditions on Friday were a success, I made All-State again this year (the entry where I made it last year is 7 down from this one, that shows how little I use this). School in general is going great, Expository Writing is kind of a pain sometimes, but Bio is pretty cool, Fissax is a good time, German is the same as usual, Orchestra is always fun, and Calc is the sweetest class of the day. The honor societies are all goin good, there are always plenty of adventures to be had with the gang, and all of my musical endeavours are goin pretty well. The next Orchestra concert will be pure domination between the Vivaldi and the Bach arrangement. It's kinda depressing that this is my last year of Orchestra, I'm gonna miss it like crazy next year. I still can't believe that I'm 18, and it's almost December of senior year, meaning that Semi is coming up, which I'm really looking forward to. Overall things are goin pretty sweet, I gotta go practice (no Bach tonight...thank God)

whatever [Aug. 29th, 2006|09:59 pm]
[I'm listening to |It's All About the Pentiums - Weird Al Yankovic]

First two days of senior year (that sounds so weird to say) are done, and I've already got a general idea of how things are lookin. The assessment:

AP Bio - seems pretty laid back. Sinibaldi is pretty cool so far. Plus me and Mareb are the only guys
AP Fissax - Will it be as awesome as Broad's class? Potential is there, we'll see
Playwriting - I'll give it a bit more time, but its permanence in my schedule is uncertain
German IV - It's German, nothin too different than the last three years
Orchestra - amazing as usual
AP Calc - Awesome so far, but will it live up to Emily's billing as "Class of the Century?" Probably

So yeah, two days down, 173ish to go. I can't believe that this is my last year. It's insane. But its's late, so I'm out.

World Domination [Jul. 27th, 2006|10:30 pm]
[I'm listening to |Grapefruit Diet - Weird Al Yankovic]

I realize it's been a while since I updated this, and there's a lot that probably needs to be said, but I'll just start with today's events first...

Today was looking like a totally boring day. I read a little bit, then decided to work on my summer math packet. Now I like math, but parametric equations never really did it for me, so I got bored. I went online, and Kate invited Chad and I over. We went over and hung out with her and Chris. Chad 'stole' a CD from Kate (she gave it to him), and we had some funny moments, many inspired by Kate's wall. Eventually her dad was coming home, so Chad and I had to go. Conveniently enough it was just after 4 o'clock, meaning that we could go bother Short at Shaw's. We discussed a number of topics with Short as he brought in carriages, such as MySpace, a ToP lounge, world domination, warring/allying with Mr. C, girls, and a number of other things. Eventually, though, Short's manager came and told us that we would have to leave after break.

So, having left Shaw's, Chad and I embarked aimlessly on a long adventure throughout Plaistow, discovering many things, including a possible Freemason lodge. More investigation is required.

In the last entry when I said "no one's supposed to be interested in this," I meant for that last entry in particular (since its pretty lame), not this thing as a whole

Midterm Week... [Jan. 20th, 2006|09:07 pm]
[How I'm feeling |discontent]
[I'm listening to |Sunshine of Your Love - Cream]

Not quite like I'd planned on it being, but it shouldn't turn out too bad...

German: 91, not too bad, but only three people in the class got A's, so pretty good
Physics: 88, mediocre, if I hadn't second-guessed myself on one question I'd have had a 90
Wellness: If she's not too picky I'll have an A
Pre-Calc: While I don't like to call things, especially midterms, I have a feeling that I dominated
Orchestra: 92 on playing, probably a 110 on the stupid music terms quiz. Not too shabby
English: Hah, I'm thinking in the B range, my essay was terribly mediocre
US Hist.: A to A- range, Morse said I got around 147/160 on multiple choice but he hasn't done the essays yet

As for the quarter I think I'll be all set except for maybe a B+ in German, but I kinda slacked off mid-quarter in that class and I can only blame myself. So overall I'm not too happy, but second quarter always is my worst, so I'm expecting a better third

Yeah, no one's supposed to really read/be interested in this, it's more just for me to put down my own thoughts...

Noobs will get pwned [Nov. 22nd, 2005|10:04 pm]
[How I'm feeling |pleased]
[I'm listening to |Innuendo - Queen]

Well, things have been going great as of late. School is going good, my report card was pretty sick, definitely one of my best ever, which is saying a lot. This quarter is going pretty good too. German is, well, German. Physics is sweet, Broad is a cool teacher. Wellness is pretty much always the same. PreCal is still a breeze, Am. Lit. is improving somewhat, and History is a pretty cool class.

The highlight of my last few weeks would definitely be making All State, which is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I didn't really think I'd make it, since I was really nervous for my audition and didn't do as good as I should have, but at least I got in. My goal for high school was to make it once, so now I've accomplished that. I'm still pretty happy about that. The first piece that we got for it though looks pretty crazy, and I have the 2nd part.

Today was a fairly amusing day. My group did a pretty good Wellness presentation on LSD, a bit short but we got to the point. Today's Am. Lit. class was one of the best this year. Cody wrote "If Cody practices, noobs will get pwned." as an example of a sentence with a subordinate clause, and Martin had no idea who noobs were or what pwned means, and we spent like 15 minutes explaining it to him. I think he learned more than we did today.

I'm out, later folks

All things must pass [Nov. 2nd, 2005|10:45 pm]
[How I'm feeling |contemplative]

Something's been bothering me for the past few days, but for the life of me I can't put a finger on exactly what it is. It's not that I'm unhappy or depressed, I've been pretty happy for the most part, and it's not a worry about school since I'm doing fine in all my classes. I just feel a bit discontent, like there's something I need to do or that I've been missing that could make things somehow better. I've been indifferent towards a number of things as well: for example, my birthday is this Saturday and at the moment I couldn't care less. I've also noticed that I've been a bit more irritable as of late. Not knowing exactly what my problem is has never been something I've been fond of, but I'm sure that soon enough whatever this is will come to pass. On another note, it's a bit unnerving that we're already a quarter of the way done the school year. Junior year just started, or so it seems... I also don't see why everyone is freaking out about this year, schoolwise I barely notice a difference between this year and last. Perhaps it's just the teachers I have, I don't know. But I guess first quarter this year has gone fairly well, I've met some new people and learned some new things. The next 9 weeks should be interesting, and I'm sure that my current discontent is a trivial matter and will soon dissipate. But the hour grows late, this entry is poorly written and should probably be stopped, and I've got important things to do, namely sleeping and finding something good to read. I haven't gotten anything new of quality to read since I finished The Godfather. So goodnight to you all, I'm off to bed.

And so it ends [Aug. 28th, 2005|08:52 pm]
[How I'm feeling |contemplative]
[I'm listening to |The Beatles - The End]

Alas, today is the last day of summer vacation. Though at the moment I won't really mind going back, I know that in a week or two I'll be unhappy once it fully sinks in that it's another full 180 days of school. Oh well, nothing I can do. Not the greatest summer, but overall, not too bad. Alaska was good and bad in its own ways, but I'd say it was good overall. The ToP sleepover on Wednesday was a good way to end the summer, without a doubt. The rest of the summer was mildly interesting, made some acquaintances online, talked to Chad and Dave a lot, stayed up late every night. It seems like school just ended, but on the other hand I'm realizing now how much I'm into my "summer routine." Waking up at 6 tomorrow will not be fun.
On another note though, I seriously cannot believe I only have 2 years left at Timberlane. Crazy. I never really thought the time would come when I would be nearing the end of my time here. It seems like I've been at the high school for a week and for ten years, both at the same time. But nothing I can do about it, I just have to finish my two years here and move onward.

But, enough of the school crap. Today was a pretty lame day, I just mostly watched The Weather Channel's coverage of Hurricane Katrina. That thing is massive. I just pray that New Orleans comes out intact and that not too many people die. So yeah, another summer gone, and so I leave you with this question to ponder.

Waffles, cereal, or mini bagels?

Naturally [Jul. 5th, 2005|03:59 pm]
[I'm listening to |Layla - Derek and the Dominoes]

Today was kinda boring, but the past two days weren't...so I'll talk about those.

Sunday was just a normal day most of the day, I was just hangin out, talkin to people online, playing guitar, same as usual. Well I wasn't home for a little while, and then I got back at probably 9:30 to find all hell broken loose. While I won't go into details here, let's just say that Chad and myself were quite frustrated at the foolishness of Dave. In the midst of that I called Chainsaw and played everyone's favorite Damn Yankees song (Shoeless Joe Dance) through the phone, but sadly enough she couldn't hear it. Oh well. I went to bed quite frustrated.

Monday was 4th of July. Chad and I continued our 'investigation,' and other than that I just hung out until like 2, when my relatives came over. I played some blues with my dad's friend Paul Prue, he's really good, I learned some good stuff from it. We had some good food and everyone left about 6. After that I called up Chainsaw again, but she deliberately had Sam answer it. I played Shoeless Joe, Who's got the Pain, and Near to You, which apparently made her very angry. The rest of the day I just hung out, talked to people (mostly Chad) online, and worked on my two newest short stories that Chainsaw ordered me to write. (To see my rather humorous stories just look at her MySpace profile). Then I went to bed.

Today was pretty lame. I made a few crazy pictures on Paint but that's really about it.

[How I'm feeling |optimistic]
[I'm listening to |Houses of the Holy - Led Zeppelin]

I haven't updated this in a while, and I'm pretty bored, so why not?

Things have been pretty normal lately overall, today was pretty normal. It's crazy how fast the school year has gone by. I can't believe that another year has gone by. Only two years left in Timberlane...But anyways, we have a three day weekend coming up, it's pretty sweet. Me, Chad, and Los are probly all gna sleep over Big D's on Sunday night. Also I gotta work on that damn math test...gotta love Algebra.

I was bored in Chem class today, so I decided that if I have children, I'm going to name my first-born son Jonathan Edward Carifio XXVIII, so that it can seem like I have a noble and historic bloodline, and thus be looked up to around the world (I told ya, I was bored).

Nothin else really to say, I'm not gonna get my wisdom teeth out until July (instead of today). I got a new wah wah pedal yesterday too, the Dunlop Crybaby 535Q, its sweet.

That's all for now I guess...
